As the European Union takes over responsibility for regulation in an increasing number of areas, it has become clear that the conditions for doing business in the various countries of the European Union are converging. To make use of this convergence process in relation to business, it is necessary to understand existing and future policies and rules within the EU. Private companies, especially companies which are active in more EU member states, are looking for staff who are familiar with EU policies and EU law to solve problems that may arise when exporting goods and services to other member states, or when establishing subsidiaries in other member states. Organisations and government units also need staff who can provide information and clarification on EU regulations and policies for the business community. The MSc in EU Business and Law (MSc(EU)) provides students with these skills. The programme exposes the students to an international environment and provides an up-to-date theoretical framework for studying the EU business environment. The MSc(EU) combines three areas: economics, international business, and law. The programme structure allows an intensive interplay between the three areas. In this way, EU policies are analysed from different perspectives: the economic policy on which they are based, their legal framework and its implementation, as well as their consequences for EU business.
